Two ways to take a seat

We offer two types of gatherings:
Hosted Events
These are high-energy events led by a friendly member of our team.
- A Warm Welcome: A host will be at the venue to greet you, introduce you to others, and break the ice.
- Guided Mingling: Depending on the event, the host might run icebreakers, games, or group rotations to make connecting effortless.
Self-Guided Gatherings (No Host)
These are casual, low-pressure meetups where we handle the logistics and you handle the fun.
- Hassle-Free Booking: We secure the reservation, manage the guest count, and send you all the venue details.
- Organic Connections: There is no official host on-site. You simply show up, look for our group's reserved table or area, and start chatting.
What sort of events do we organize?
We bring people together around the table over casual drinks, dinners, and brunches. Every event starts in small, structured groups to make conversation effortless—followed by open mingling so you can expand your network naturally.
To keep the community vibrant and fresh, our local ambassadors also host special activities like bowling nights, karaoke, and active group outings!

How much does an event cost?
It depends. Some events are free — we'll just ask you to get a drink or a meal — but most have a small fee. Each event is different, and the details are always provided before you book.
How do hosted events work?
Our hosted events are designed to make mingling effortless and fun! Here's what you can expect:
- Led by Local Hosts: A friendly member of our local team will be on-site to greet you, introduce you to the group, and run the event from start to finish.
- Intimate Small Groups: We usually start the event in smaller, relaxed groups so you can get comfortable and kickstart conversations easily.
- Group Rotations: Throughout the event, we'll do a few quick rotations. This changes up the groups so you get the chance to meet and connect with as many new people as possible.
- Open Mingling: After the structured rotations, there is plenty of free time for everyone to mix, mingle, and keep chatting with the people you clicked with.
What actually happens at a Take a Seat event without a host?
You arrive, find your table of five or six, and settle in with people picked for good conversation. There's no itinerary beyond that — just real time together, phone-free.
How are the people at a table chosen?
We build each table from what you tell us about your curiosity and outlook, not your photos or a dating-style profile.
How often can I book a table?
New tables open every week in each city we serve, so there's almost always a seat coming up.
Which cities is Take a Seat in?
Right now we seat tables in Barcelona, Stockholm, and Tallinn.
Do I only meet the people at my table?
Not always. Some nights we run several tables at the same venue, so there's often a chance to mingle with other groups too.
What languages are spoken at the events?
All events are held in either English or the local language. When you apply, we use your language preferences to match you with the right group.
Note: If you select multiple languages, you might be placed in a group speaking either one — so please only select languages you're comfortable holding a full conversation in.
How are food or drink restrictions managed?
Once we share the venue details ahead of the event, we recommend checking their menu online. When you arrive, simply let the host or venue staff know about any allergies or restrictions so they can accommodate you, and feel free to ask them any questions about the ingredients.
